George Russel, fourth overall in this year's Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS with Koiranen GP, has been named as one of the six finalists for the 2014 McLaren Autosport BRDC Award. This prestigious award is assigned by the Brit Autosport magazine (which covers the Fast Lane Promotion Series with a report each Thursday following the races) to the best young driver.
The 16 y/o driver from Kyngs Lynn, will be judged during a testing session to be held at the end of October in Silverstone with different types of cars. Among the others, in the jury there will be the former F1 driver Derek Warwick and the BTCC Champion Jason Plato.
Along with Russel there will also be two other young talents that have races in the 2014 Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS: Ben Barnicoat and Seb Morris (Fortec Motorsports).
